Faith Food = BIBLE STUDY AND PRAYER GUIDE

Post by PAHaworth »

Bible Study
Here are some more questions for you to ask in relation to the passages you will read in your Bible, to help give you a more rewarding Bible Study:
Of whom is the passage speaking?
To whom is the passage directed?
What specific words does the writer use?
At what time was the passage written?
From where was the passage written?
For what purpose was the passage written?
In what situation was the passage written?
How does the passage fit into what goes before it and what follows it?
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15).
Note. Though a formal Bible study is not absolutely vital every day, a daily Together Time is imperative for your spiritual growth.

Together Time
Here are some questions for you to ask as you meditate on each verse in your daily reading of the Scripture: Is there in this verse a:
Sin to avoid? Warning to heed?
Command to obey? Good example to follow?
Bad example to shun? New thought about God the Father?
New thought about God the Son? New thought about God the Holy Spirit?
Fresh insight into the person of Satan? Fresh insight into Satan’s cruel aims?
Fresh insight into Satan’s subtle devices?
“But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. But whosoever looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth in it, he being not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the word, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:22,25).

DAILY PRAYER GUIDE
To help my in our daily intercessory prayer, try to follow the daily sequence which follows.
Having already fed our souls on God’s word and prayed it from head to heart, supplicatory prayer becomes vitalised. Instead of a perfunctory daily routine, supplication for others becomes a protracted and fresh time of thanksgiving, intercession and concern for them. Though we do not have a documented list of prayer concerns in this way, we trust the Holy Spirit to expand our prayer time to embrace all immediate prayer needs whatever they may be.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Phil. 4:6).
Note: The Daily Prayer Guide does not exclude praying for concerns of a personal nature or that may arise daily.
