Own a brighter Future (Intro of Dr. Candia Mitchell Hall)

Post by kpowell »

Life has a way of cutting us down to size

Life throws curve balls at us
Humbling us
What is that one thing that you want that you would trade everything for?
Intrinsic, Emotional Autonomoy

Unconverted attitudes, Issues we hold on to
It cuts us off from intimacy /having an intimate relationship with the God of our Salvation

No matter the issue

What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
The only way to slow us down is to distract us

Busy working to live
Yet forgetting how to live

God's standard still prevails today
Regardless of what your past has been
You have been through enough
Surrender all to your Saviour now
Press on the upward way, choose higher ground above your sin and failure and
Choose Christ Jesus today
Sometimes it's in the crucible, When you have Nothing left
That you find your opportunity!

Remember: You may still have a good name, but you are nobody without Christ Jesus
He is the only one who can make a nobody into a somebody !
That’s what true conversion and transformation is all about

Introduction of a key Educator and Contributor to Society who will make guest appearances on this show throughout this year:

Dr. Candia Mitchell Hall is lecturer in Caribbean Civilization and Material Culture in the Institute of Caribbean Studies at the University of the West. Indies. Dr. Mitchell Hall is also Campus Coordinator of the cross-campus course, FOUN 1101 Caribbean Civilization. She specializes in African diasporic heritage and memory. Dr. Mitchell Hall is the author of “Memory, Memorializing and Martyrdom in Post-Revolutionary Grenada” which is published in the Journal of Caribbean History 55 (No 1).

This work interrogates how memory, memorials and martyrdom converge in a nation polarized on and by the Grenada Revolution. She loves to shape minds to rethink, reframe and revise single narratives( bias, myths, stereotypes, prejudice) which disables and belittles the Black Community. She believes that History is important as it heightens one's identity and it creates opportunities for generations of people to connect to their forebears and ancestry.
