Stressed to the Max

If your world seems to be spinning out of control and you’re constantly stressed out with the demands of life–perhaps it’s time to get off the merry-go-round and evaluate “why.” It’s a terrible feeling to be constantly fighting anxiety, racing from one task to the next, never feeling fulfilled or at peace. Stress left to run rampant can destroy much more than just your physical health. Too often, it destroys relationships, your family, and spiritual life as well.

It’s hard to think straight or even trust God when your life is a mess and turned upside down. Keeping that pace will not only zap all your energy but you’ll develop worry lines on your forehead that no amount of Botox will fix. Everyone experiences stress from time to time as that is just a part of life. However, when your body is in a constant state of anxiety, it’s called “chronic stress,” and that is a danger to your health. You’ll develop headaches, muscle tension, irritability, insomnia, and the list goes on. You’ll find yourself not only snapping at those you love the most but perfect strangers as well. Your grumpy attitude won’t help you develop friendships either. Fortunately there is not only a treatment for chronic stress, there is a cure! Jesus is the answer.

The Bible says in Psalm 55:22, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” What a beautiful promise. Why wait until you are stressed to the max? Give all your worries, problems and burdens to Jesus . . . and leave them there.

Rearview Mirror

There are days when you may be tempted to look back at the past and think about the things you wished you could do over. But there’s a reason why the rearview mirror is so much smaller than the windshield. What’s ahead is far more important than what’s behind you. When life’s trials smack you in the face, instead of getting discouraged, bitter, and angry, reach out for God’s hand. Remember He is always there beside you, even though at times you may forget.

When you are struggling and losing hope, remember that whatever you’re going through is just temporary. It’s only a bend in the road - not the end of the road. Just because you’re struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing, it just means the road is a bit bumpy at the moment. Turn your worries and fear into worship and God will turn your battles into blessings. God’s Holy Word is the “sword of the Spirit,” so use it to defeat the devil. When you’re under attack, that’s the time to double up on your praise and worship, Bible study, and prayer.

Don’t waste another minute looking in your rearview mirror, lamenting over what you wished you had done. Just go forward, determined to make better choices, and for strength, claim
Philippians 4:13,“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Have a blessed week
